M88 AFV Club (Final Pics)

It's been a while but here we go again with this M88 from AFV CLub. With this post, I close the final chapter of the whole M88 project that has been in the works for almost a year. Final pics, go!

Se ha hecho largo pero ya estamos aquí de nuevo con el M88. Con este post doy por acabado este proyecto que entre idas y venidas a durado aproximadamente un año. Vamos con las fotos finales!

The plain base coat. /  La capa base plana

The painting has been a long and difficult issue due to several factors. Among them, the fact that Olive Drab from the Nam era is not a catchy color (from the modelling perspective, of course) and also that this is a massive model. I made my mind that I was going for a realistic finish with the OB, therefore, I had to think and plan what effects and different variations I was going to use in each zone to avoid the model being boring. 

La pintura ha sido un proceso complicado y largo debido a diversos factores. Entre ellos el hecho de el Olive Drab de la era vietnam no es un color especialmente llamativo (des del punto de vista modelístico) y de que esta maqueta es, simplemente, enorme. Por tanto, y ya que decidí ser lo más realista posible con el color, tuve que pensar en que detalles o efectos iba a usar en cada zona para que todas fueran interesantes y la maqueta no fuera aburrida.

In this case, I decided from the beginning that I would build up all the contrast by using oils rather than with airbrush. The whole painting process will be explained in the next number of Abrams Squad (num21).

En este caso, decidí desde el principio que iba a construir el contraste de la maqueta con oleos en vez de con la forma que normalmente utilizo con aerógrafo.
