Review AK Interactive December NEW products!

In this entry, we are going to review the Christmas new products from AK. Recently the Spanish company has released three new products of his AFV series destined to painting and weathering of vehicles. Among them, we can find two sets of acrylic paints “The Caunter Scheme 1940-41” (AK4030), “Tank Accessories” (AK4000) and one of enamel paints “Dust and Dirt deposits” (AK4060).

En esta entrada vamos a dar un repaso a las novedades para Navidad de AK, y es que recientemente la marca española ha lanzado tres productos de su serie AFV destinada a pintura y envejecido de vehículos. Entre ellos nos encontramos con dos sets de pinturas acrílicas “The Caunter Scheme 1940-41” (AK4030), “Tank Accesories” (AK4000) y uno de pinturas enamel “Dust and Dirt deposits” (AK4060).

The products

All the acrylics and enamels sets come in the typical AK formats. The acrylics sets consist of six plastic jars and the enamel of three. It is important to mention two things about the AK acrylics; one is that all the colors are made using the “Scale Reduction Factor” which provides us better color accuracy. The other is that all the acrylics come with the New Formula which I have already reviewed and improves the performance a lot. Finally, AK uses the same box to show us some colour profiles or references pics. 

 Tanto los sets acrílicos como el enamel vienen en el formato al que AK nos tiene acostumbrados. Los sets acrílicos constan de seis botes de pintura cada uno y los de enamel de tres. Es importarte nombrar dos cosas sobre los acrílicos de AK, una es que todos los colores están hechos teniendo en cuenta el “Factor de Reducción de Escala” la cual cosa nos proporciona mejor precisión de color. La otra es que todos los acrílicos utilizan la Nueva Formula de la que ya hice un review y que mejora el comportamiento de esta muchísimo. Por último, AK utiliza la misma caja para mostrarnos algunos camos o imagenes de referencia..

“The Caunter Scheme 1940-41” (AK4030)

The colors of these sets have been formulated to allow you to paint British vehicles of the Mediterranean and Africa in the period between 1940 and 1941.

Los colores de este set están formulados para poder pintar vehículos Británicos en el Mediterráneo y África durante el periodo del 1940 al 1941.

“Tank Accessories” (AK4000)

This is, with the Rust Effect Colors (AK551) and the Track and Wheels (AK557) one of the most polyvalent sets from AK. It consists of six colors that will help us with accessories like extinguishers, exhausts, ammunition, periscopes or canvas. Although I’m quite sure you are going to find lots of uses to them.

 Este es, junto al de Óxidos (AK551) y el de Cadenas y Ruedas (AK557) uno de los sets más polivalentes de AK. Consta de seis colores que nos ayudarán con accesorios como extintores, escapes, munición, periscopios o lonas. Aunque estoy seguro que al igual que yo, le vais a encontrar muchos más usos.

“Dust and Dirt deposits” (AK4060)

This was one of the products that attracted most my attention, as it’s a completely new product. This is a product made to represent the dust and earth deposited on corners, surfaces, etc.  A quick look at the jar shows us that in this case, the dilution of the paint is something like 50-50. It seems that the mixture it’s in between the “Nature Effects” and the “Streak Effects” lines of product. Something worth to mention is that once dry, the product gets a little brighter giving us a convincing look of dust/earth.

Este es uno de los productos que más me llamo la atención al ser completamente nuevo. Es un producto pensado para representar el polvo y tierra acumulada en recovecos, superficies planas, etc. Un primer vistazo al bote nos da una idea de que en este caso la dilución de la pintura es algo parecido a 50-50. Diríamos que la mezcla se coloca claramente entre los “Nature Effects” y los “Streak Effects”. Algo importante a mencionar es que el producto, una vez seco, aclara un poco el color dando un efecto de polvo/tierra muy convincente.

The application of the product is very easy. We’ve made a step-by-step in a quick test to show you how is it, and what is the result you can achieve. Sincerely, this product left us a good impression for its use facility, tones and the result.

Su aplicación es muy sencilla. Para ello os hemos hecho una especie de paso a paso en un rápido test para que veías de que se trata y cuál es su resultado. Sinceramente, nos ha dejado una muy buena impresión tanto en su facilidad de uso, tonos y resultado.
